Sheila Dikshit, the
Chief Minister of Delhi, inaugurated the 23rd Garden Tourism Festival at
The Garden of Five Senses, organised by Delhi Tourism held from February
19-21. The theme of this year’s festival was the forthcoming Commonwealth
Games in New Delhi and was titled Commonwealth Games 2010 Green Delhi
Welcomes You. The festival showcased a variety of plants and flowers under
32 categories and some of these included potted shrubs, hanging baskets,
tree gardens, flower decorations, vegetable carvings, etc. Visitors had a
chance to buy the plants and flowers at the outlets set-up outside the
garden. In addition, a variety of cultural programmes were also organized
to keep the visitors interested.
