ADTOI IV ANNUAL CONVENTION-CUM-EXHIBITION: DOMESTIC TOURISM THE 'FOUNDATION' OF INCREDIBLE INDIA.

 

The fourth Annual Convention & Exhibition of the Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India (ADTOI) is scheduled for March 19-20, 2010 at Hotel Ashok, New Delhi. The convention with its theme DOMESTIC TOURISM- THE ‘foundation’ OF INCREDIBLE INDIA is supported by all the stake holders:  Ministry of Tourism, State Tourism Departments, Hoteliers, Airlines and Tour operators.  Hon’ble Minister of State for Tourism, Shri Sultan Ahmed has given a formal consent to grace our inaugural function.  The keynote speech will be delivered by Mr Sujit Banerjee, Secretary Ministry of Tourism, Govt of India.  Participation by other dignitaries is in the process of finalization.

ADTOI Founded in 1996 is the National Body of the Domestic Tour operators of India, whose primary aim is to promote domestic tourism in India. ADTOI has been the guiding and grooming spirit behind Domestic Tourism’s upbeat in spite of, grave calamities and catastrophes hitting the tourism industry

The participants comprise state tourism departments and other members of tourism and travel industry. The convention would provide an ideal platform to state tourism bodies and other industry players to debate, deliberate and discuss issues such as present scenario of domestic tourism, new policies of the Central/State government(s) their implementation, difficulties faced by domestic tour operators and solution thereof and the government in promoting the domestic tourism industry country wide, besides other issues, on a wider and deeper spectrum. The convention would not only facilitate interaction and cooperation among the industry representatives, but would also witness their

collective and determined efforts in promoting the domestic tourism industry in India. This event will also give an opportunity to showcase the various Tourism Products and initiatives. The exhibition will be open to the participants at the convention i.e. officials from the state tourism bodies, hoteliers, tour operators, invitees and public.  It will provide an ideal Stepping stone for a buyer-seller meet and product awareness for the visitors to the Exhibition.

As a major Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, ADTOI has invited 100 students from various institutes of Tourism and Travel Management to attend this convention.

The business seminars during the convention will focus on discussing, debating and finalizing various strategies and action plans to enhance the growth and strengthening of domestic tourism within India.There is also a session of a motivational speaker for 90 minutes on topic of RELATIONSHIP  In addition there will be 3 to 4 skits of 10mintues each to give a social, wildlife and domestic tourism related message packed in entertainment.  

Aftermath of 9/11 was USA's roaring inter-state Tourism growth. Australia, Ireland and China’s are also exemplary stories of bringing to the forefront domestic tourism's wide ranging linkage effects and multiple massive impacts. To understand Domestic Tourism's success in USA, NTA, USA, Chairman Ms Catherine Greteman has been invited as the  guest speaker  at the Convention to share the policies subscribed to in the USA.
